 Mayfield Heights Ohio - Future Rock Stars Perform Benefit For Cancer

Local young rock stars will be performing a benefit concert this Thursday night, with proceeds going toward cancer research.

WHEN: Thursday, November 18th, 2010

WHERE: The Boneyard, 5900 Mayfield Rd, Mayfield Heights, Oh

TIME: 6:00 PM

Club Rock, a 10 week workshop for children ages 4-16, teaches kids techniques for singing and performing.  At the end of the 10 week session, the children get to perform live in front of an audience. This particular concert will feature Club Varsity, the more experienced members of club rock, along with local rock star, Avril Berg and her band Run Avril Run.  

Admission will be $2 at the door, and proceeds will go to Cycle For Survivor, a charity that raises money to fight rare cancers.

Cleveland will be holding Cycle For Survival for the first time on February 13, 2011 at the Solon Recreation Center.  Cycle for Survival is an indoor team cycling event that raises money to support research on rare cancers at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC). 

The Cleveland Cycle For Survival Event is being organized by Stacy Starkoff, a local resident who is currently being treated at MSKCC. Please view the brief video below on Stacy's story:

Solon OH Rotary Club - Bowl For Water Charity Event

What: Charity Bowling Event

When: Saturday, October 23, 2010 , 5-7PM, or 7-9PM

Where: Solon Freeway Lanes, 33185 Bainbridge Rd. Solon, OH

Sponsored By: Solon OH Rotary Club, Blue Planet Network, RowForWater.com, Freeway Lanes

The Solon Rotary Club will be having this event in order to help raise money for the Blue Planet Network and the Blue Planet Run Foundation, an organization created to bring sustainable safe drinking water to people throughout the world, primary in rural communities.  Unsafe drinking water is the leading cause of sickness and disease and the Solon OH Rotary Club is looking to do its part to raise money for this cause.

This charity is supported by Cleveland's own Katie Spotz, the courageous young woman who captured the hearts of America when she became the youngest person to row solo across the Atlantic Ocean. Katie will be on hand for this event as well as some other local celebrities.

Tickets are $15 per person, and include:

2 hours of bowling

Pizza and Soda

Live DJ

Celebrity Bar Tenders

There are two different two hour shifts in which you can participate. Please come by for a lot of fun and support a great cause.
